Right hand

I've been reading in psalms and read a lot about the "right arm" of God. Didn't think much of it, so I continued on. Until I read this verse [all verses here are KJV, for reference's sake]

Ps 78:54 - And he brought them to the border of his sanctuary, even to this mountain, which his right hand had purchased.

And the word "purchased" struck me. It hit me that when we talk about God "purchasing" anything - it's typically in response to Jesus purchasing for us salvation. Which lead me to think that Jesus is often referred to as "sitting at the right hand of God".

So the idea came to mind that when the Psalmists are speaking of God's right hand that maybe they were talking about Jesus [hundreds of years before his physical birth, which is in itself a pretty cool thought]. I'm not passing this off as literal interpretation or anything but interesting, at least. Here are some verses I looked up with "right hand" notation replaced with the name of Jesus himself. Let me know what you think.

Psalms 16:11 - Thou wilt show me the path of life: in thy presence is fulness of joy; in Jesus there are pleasures forevermore

Ps 17:7 -Show thy marvelous lovingkindness, O thou that savest by Jesus them which put their trust in thee . . .

Ps 18:35 - Thou hast also given me the shield of thy salvation; and Jesus hat holden me up . . .

Ps 20:6 - Now know I that the LORD saveth his anointed; he will hear him from his holy heaven with the saving strength of Jesus

Ps 21:8 - . . . Jesus shallfind out those that hate thee

Ps 45:4 - And in thy majesty ride prosperously because of truth and meekness and righteousness; and Jesus shall teach thee terrible [wonderful] things

Ps 48: 10 - according to thy name, O God, so is thy praise unto the ends of the earth: Jesus is full of righteousness

Ps 60:5 - That thy beloved may be delivered; save with Jesus, and hear me

Ps 63:8 - My soul followeth hard after thee: Jesus upholdeth me

Ps 73: 23 - Nevertheless I am continually with thee: thou hast holden me by Jesus

Ps 80:17 - Let thy hand be upon the man of Jesus, upon the son of man whom thou madest strong for thyself [one of my FAVORITES]

Ps 98:1 - O sing unto the LORD a new song; for he hath done marvelous things: Jesus and his holy arm hath gotten him the victory

Ps 108:6 - That thy beloved may be delivered: save by Jesus, and answer me

Ps 110:5 - The Lord Jesus shall strike through kings in the day of his wrath

Ps 118:15 - The voice of rejoicing and salvation is in teh tabernacles of the righteous, Jesus of the LORD does valiantly

Ps 138:7 - Though I walk in the midst of trouble, thou wilt revive me: thou shalt stretch forth thine hand against the wrath of mine enemies, and Jesus shall save me

Ps 139:10 - Even there shall thy hand lead me, and Jesus shall hold me

some thoughts

I started this blog a long time ago and deleted all of the earlier posts I had. My thoughts are boring, if you want to know the truth. So I thought maybe this could be a discussion. I get a lot of ideas or inspirations [some of them crazy, some good, some crazy good I hope] but the more of these I share the more I really believe that inspirations are gateways for discussions.
